STARTERS

Cream of Celeriac, Hazelnut and Leek Soup

Organic celeriac, fennel and leek combine in this soup, which is scattered with chopped rocket and hazels. Served with our locally baked bread £5.50

 

Goat's Cheese and Green Raisin salad

Goat's cheese round served on a bed of salad leaves with shade dried green raisins, walnuts, a blueberry coulis and warm bread. (Gluten free option) £6.00

 

Wild Rice

A delicious mix of wild rice, pistachio nuts, apricot and rocket with the smoky flavour of a sesame oil dressing. (Vegan and Gluten free) £5.50

 

Chef's Salad

e.g. fresh organic grated beetroot, water chestnut, carrot, arame seaweed and a light avocado dressing on a bed of green leaves topped with a slice of white silken tofu, served with warm bread. (Vegan and Gluten Free) £5.00

 

Greek Salad

Peppers, tomato, olives, red onion, and feta cheese with an olive oil and lemon dressing, and served with fresh bread. £6.50

 

MAIN COURSES

Carrot and Feta Terrine

Organic carrot and mixed nuts , mildly spicy, layered with feta cheese and encased in vine leaves. Complimented by a pea and mint puree, a green pepper salsa, and served with buttered new potatoes and sautéed sesame greens. £12.50

 

Wild Mushroom and Pine Nut Risotto

Arborio rice, oven baked in white wine, rosemary and red onion, is brought to the stove to be hand finished with oyster mushrooms, cream, herbs, olive oil, parmesan and pine nuts.

Chowla Poora

These thin lacy pancakes are virtually flour free and egg free, and are made from protein rich black-eyed beans, cumin , chilli and coriander, then inside a mildly spicy filling of aubergine and spinach. This dish is accompanied by a pear and date chutney (Nashpati Chatni) a tomato sauce, and a cucumber and yoghurt Raita. (The dish is vegan apart from the Raita; vegans please tell your waitress) £13.00

Mushroom Burger

Large mushrooms cooked in garlic butter are topped with halloumi cheese and oven baked. Served on our specially made burger buns from Haxby bakery, this dish comes with oven baked polenta ‘chips', tomato sauce, gherkins and side salad.

Our Vegan option is served with smoked tofu instead of the cheese £9.95

 

Salad Plate Trio

We are offering a main course option of three of our delicious deli salads, served with fresh bread. Please ask your waitress for tonight's options. £8.95

Chocolate Roulade

A light chocolate roll laced with cognac, filled with fresh cream and black cherries.

Strawberry Mousse

A deliciously lightly whipped sugar free mousse made with strawberries and grape syrup served with our own homemade biscuits. (Vegan option, Sugar free, GF option) £4.50

 

Apple and Raspberry Strudel

Apples, sultanas, raspberries from Goji's garden and cinnamon wrapped up in filo pastry. A light summery dessert. Served with ice cream, cream or yoghurt. (Vegan option) £5.50

 

Blueberry Heaven with Carob dusting

If you feel quite full after the main course but want something light as a cloud, sweet, yet totally sugar free, then let us tempt you with this fabulous dessert; on a base of dates and crushed nuts, with blueberries blended with cashew cream and coconut butter, then chilled, and dusted before serving with carob. Irresistible! (Vegan, Sugar free, Gluten free) £5.50
